The Role:

Kendall Poole Consulting is representing an established global market leader with an excellent reputation for reliable project and service delivery, innovation and customer focus. A fantastic opportunity now exists for a Business Development Manager to join the European team responsible for driving the development of new business opportunities.

Reporting to the European Managing Director and Home Based, the Business Development Manager will play a major role in identifying and winning sales opportunities, across Europe, in order to maximise market share and secure long term customer relationships that add value and ensure consistent growth and profitability.

In essence you will be selling consultancy services, operational excellence in its widest sense, including Lean, Supply Chain consulting; inventory optimisation, demand forecasting and planning and S&OP activities; post mergers and acquisition support; talent leadership solutions; software technology and tracking mechanisms.  Utilising Salesforce, you will have a warm database of previous customers, be expected to develop lapsed ones and secure new clients across Europe.

The Person:

  • You will be degree educated, ideally in a Business related or Engineering subject
  • Significant experience of selling consulting services with a pattern of success ideally within manufacturing, engineering or industrial sectors across the UK, Ireland and Mainland Europe
  • B2B sales service industry experience is essential
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence, Lean or CI across the supply chain would be advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to work independently you will have strong solutions selling experience, be a Hunter or Door Opener able to identify key decision makers and engage them
  • You will be process driven, consultative, tenacious and resilient, able to build rapport and develop long term relationships
  • With excellent communication and interpersonal skills you will be comfortable operating at a senior level
  • European language skills would be advantageous, cultural awareness and adaptability essential
  • This role requires some international travel, is home-based and therefore, you will need to be self-motivated
