Kendall Poole Consulting are proud to represent a division of an international manufacturing group in their search for an Embedded Systems Engineer. This client has been supplying static earthing and bonding solutions to the hazardous area EX Industries for over 30 years and have recently acquired and integrated a PCB manufacturing business to support their offering to a global market. The remit is aligned to the future vision to bring Engineering Design inhouse and you will join a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the development of next generation products through innovation in engineering design. 

 

The Role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Embedded Systems Engineer vacancy is a newly created internal role that requires the following skillsets and competences:

 

The Candidate:

  • Graduate calibre with a degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related subject or qualified through experience having developed strong programming skills on embedded systems
  • Strong electronics background - digital and analogue circuitry (op-amp circuits, passive and active filters)
  • Experience of ARM Core devices and the Eclipse programming environment
  • Programming in C (or C++) is essential and experience of MISRA C would be an advantage
  • Experience of communication hardware and software protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, RS485, USB)
  • Experience of Visual C or other visual programming languages
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analysers)
  • Knowledge of IEC 61508 Functional Safety Standard would be an advantage but not essential as knowledge will develop over time
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Methodical with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently at home or in the facility and contribute as a team player
  • Customer orientated able to support the New Product Introduction strategy in PCB design, Printed Board layouts, prototype boards
