Location: Wiltshire        

Salary: c£75,000 + Benefits

 

Our client is an established market leader, designing and manufacturing niche capital equipment and metal components. Part of a global Group, this business is poised for double digit growth in the next year.  It’s truly exciting times and we are seeking to recruit a new Finance Manager to manage the financial operation over two sites within the UK.  Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the FM will be responsible for ensuring the commercial strategy is aligned with business objectives, sound financial reporting in line with Statutory, Company and Group best practice standards.

 

Managing the financial operation and steering the financial strategy of the UK subsidiary and collaborating with the International / Group Finance function; you will lead a small team, providing operating results and meaningful management reports to facilitate the day-to-day management of this manufacturing/assembly business.  Ensuring precise financial control and adherence to legislative requirements, you will also ensure financial control and rigor, providing financial reporting, variance analysis, target / actual comparisons, project controlling and investment controlling building relationships with key stakeholders to maximize ROI.

 

In terms of key responsibilities, you will guide and control accounting data, create budget and monthly / quarterly forecasts assuring the MD that budgets are not exceeded, whilst overseeing the functions of Sales Ledger, Credit Control and Purchase Ledger.  You will also develop an oversight of price / cost comparisons and be responsible for executing money transactions.  You will lead inventory accounting, analysing the existing stock, stock accumulation and the costs surrounding this to the business. Promoting and embracing a culture of Continual Improvement, you will streamline processes for information delivery, implementing new systems as the business grows.

 

Of graduate calibre, CIMA / ACCA qualified, ideally with first time passes, with relevant financial experience gained within a manufacturing environment; you may have an audit background having moved into manufacturing later in your career.  You will have developed your career within an organisation known for financial rigour and have an appetite for advising on new ways of working which are quicker and more cost effective.  You will be an experienced leader of people, at Finance Manager or Finance Controller level, used to coaching and motivating a finance team to higher levels of performance within a CI / Lean environment. 

 

Used to ISO standards and working with regulatory bodies, you will understand business partnering in its truest sense with the ability to present financial data to a Board and International Group.  Having exceptional accounting skills, within a costing environment, you will be highly numerate with strong analytical skills, understand the pressures associated with providing monthly and annual management accounts, detailing robust information with a strong focus on cash management and forecasting. 

 

Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, have empathy with other cultures, be detail conscious with the ability to communicate with non-financial managers.  You will also be adept at problem solving, having introduced new ways of working, demonstrating a commercial mind-set, with the ability to articulate continual improvements to cost efficiencies.  Exposure to a variety of accounting, ERP and management systems is desirable and good working experience of Excel spreadsheets is essential.
