From complete seating systems to individual components, their expertise spans every step of the automotive seat-making process.
Reporting to the Materials & Logistics Manager, working within the foam plant based in Wednesbury, you will lead a small team of Material Planners and Expeditors. Responsible for all aspects of material supply, you will liaise with customers to address issues relating to forecasting and the supply of materials into the plant, including stock control, accuracy and monthly cycle counts. Maintaining accuracy of the MBOM, you will provide a high-quality service, liaising with managers throughout the organisation, at this high volume fast paced facility within the automotive sector. Utilizing your talent to deliver a service, which meets the pace of customer demand using optimal resources, you will monitor and update KPIs for the Logistics function, in line with the business operation system, controlling inventory, stock turn and the NPI process for raw materials and finished goods.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent preferably with a Materials, Logistics or equivalent Supply Chain professional qualification. You will have a proven manufacturing background in materials management, planning / logistics, ideally within the Automotive sector, although candidates from an equally fast paced manufacturing environment will be considered. With well-honed supervisory skills you will be able to lead, motivate and coach a small team of Planners and Expeditors ensuring the material supply is on time in full. Knowledge of warehousing, inventory, stock control, goods in / dispatch is essential. Having knowledge of SAP, QAD, MGP systems would be advantageous.
