SALARY: c£34,000 + Pension

 

Kendall Poole Consulting are proud to represent a well-known manufacturing and installation Group in their search for a Maintenance Engineer.  This client has a creative approach to developing residential and commercial solutions which has helped move the industry forward providing positive outcomes ultimately for consumers and society. Reporting to the Engineering Manager a permanent vacancy now exists for a ME.  This is an exciting time to join a business which is agile, forward thinking and investing in training and development of their valued employees. The role of the Maintenance Engineer is business critical and you will be part of a new team focused on transition and improvement to plant machinery and processes.

 

The Role:

  • To proactively carry out routine / preventative maintenance / mechanical settings and fault diagnosis across all the facility and systems employed in the fabrication process including cutting and welding
  • Maintaining electro / mechanical control systems you will have proven capability of using a range of software diagnostic tools (PLCs / maintenance software) to identify faults and take action
  • To adhere to and maintain a preventative maintenance programme understanding internal and external customer needs in line with the business vision
  • To support the Production team in training when appropriate
  • To provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement of plant and equipment working closely with Production Engineering

 

The Person:

  • Appropriate engineering / technical qualification, NVQ / City & Guilds / HNC or above and or a recognised trade apprenticeship
  • Previous experience of working in a Maintenance role within a manufacturing environment operating a PMS
  • Proven experience of being a competent Mechanical / Electrical Fitter ideally with 17th Edition
  • Knowledge of maintaining cutting and welding machines such as Schirmer, Urban, Emmegi equipment is desirable
  • Capable of using a range of software diagnostic tools (PLCs/maintenance software)
  • An aptitude for fault finding and problem solving using root cause analysis and 8D techniques
  • Previous experience of working in a fast-growing company in transition
  • An appreciation of working in a Lean environment, knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and Gemba
  • Able to work in an organised and structured way
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude able to build constructive working relationships with colleagues
  • Strong communicator with the ability to think clearly, act quickly and stay calm in a pressure situation
  • Flexible attitude to working hours
  • Excellent level of IT literacy
