Location: Wednesbury, West Midlands

Salary: £38,000 + 30% Shift Allowance

 

Now recruiting for a skilled Electrical Shift Maintenance Technician to provide world-class maintenance support to all the plant and ancillary equipment and facilities. The shift pattern is 4 on and 4 off, 2 days of the shift being days (7am-7pm) and 2 days being nights (7pm-7am) and is with a world-class manufacturer in the Automotive Industry that uses state of the art machinery and robotic systems.

 

The Role:

  • As a member of this successful maintenance team, you will undertake mainly electrical preventative and corrective maintenance routines, on PLCs and advanced robotic systems and controllers using Siemens S7
  • You will also work on hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical and chemical systems attached to production and non-production equipment when needed
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and undertake reactive maintenance including fault finding, and corrective action during production hours
  • Work with the engineering team to operate an effective Reliability Centred Maintenance system looking at repeat and potential failures and build effective strategies to increase the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • You will participate in multi-discipline problems solving teams to advance manufacturing processes and quality improvements
  • Maintain accurate records of works orders and stock use / needs
  • This role and company are very progressive in their thinking and you will have the opportunity to go on advanced training courses to become an expert in certain areas of the production line

 

The Person:

  • You will have an Apprenticeship with an appropriate craft or technical qualification, level 3 or HNC qualified
  • You’ll ideally be electrical bias with some mechanical knowledge
  • 19th Edition certification would be an advantage, but it is not a must
  • A working knowledge of Siemens S7 / Tia PLC’s and Fanuc robot controllers would be desirable
  • Able to effectively and efficiently work to tight deadlines
  • Familiar with and operated under a Permit to Work system
  • Having some working experience with plant safety equipment would also be highly advantageous
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative in and have a systematic approach to problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to work alone and with low levels of supervision, but also a team player with a flexible attitude in supporting business needs
  • A capable IT user
