We are proud to represent a division of an international manufacturing group in their search for a Managing Director. The Company designs, assembles, tests and delivers safety critical, electro-mechanical products for hazardous areas into multiple markets worldwide and, if successful, you will lead a multi-disciplinary senior management team, supporting the development of next generation products, through a period of growth ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Group Managing Director, you will have an overriding brief to take the lead in implementing operational and commercial strategy, in line with the vision to exceed customer expectations in terms of Technology, Quality, Cost and Delivery. With full P&L responsibility the MD will steer the SMT to achieve the growth strategy, providing decisive and highly visible leadership. You will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to transform the business and improve its operational performance across the product ranges.
An outstanding achiever both academically and throughout your career, you will be an accomplished Managing Director or GM having had P&L and/or full budgetary responsibility within the Manufacturing / Engineering sector. To deliver within this role you will have led operations in design, manufacture, assembly and test of technical products, preferably with exposure to developing product strategies, sales channels and key accounts for new and diverse international markets.
It is essential that you are strategic, yet hands-on, and possess the leadership skills to develop the people to achieve higher levels of performance. Having delivered positive results, in your manufacturing career to date, you will be ready for your next challenge where you can change the dynamics of a business for the better, whilst celebrating its historical achievements and initiate improvements for the future.
We are searching for a charismatic individual; an Agent of Change, visible and engaging displaying emotional intelligence and social competence. You will be ‘hands on’ with a common-sense approach to managing people and process driven, highly structured, detailed, yet action orientated with the ability to collaborate with customers and suppliers leading diverse functions through KPI’s or metrics. With the remit to change any unproductive work practices, you will be organised and consistent in your approach to problem solving and have the capacity to absorb pressure.
A positive personality with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you will be an influencer, natural motivator and coach with the ability to promote an engaging and collaborative culture across the business. Not for the faint hearted, you will be an enabler, empathetic yet results focused with the personal drive to rise to the challenges without losing your sense of humour!
