Kendall Poole Consulting are proud to represent a PE backed precision engineering and manufacturing company in their search for a Sales & Marketing Director. Our client works from new concept design and manufacture, all the way through to finished product assembly with customers from start-ups and global giants in the technology, pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries. Working closely with the Board and reporting to the CEO, you will join a dynamic team and take ownership of the Sales & Marketing function. You will develop and implement the commercial strategy, executing the plans to move into new sectors, improve margins and ultimately profitability of the business in the UK and Ireland.


The Role:

  • Leading a sales and marketing team you will develop new roles and establish performance management metrics to drive both strategic and day to day operational sales growth
  • Developing strong customer relationships, driving company growth through key sales and increasing revenue streams, innovating product solutions and supporting a positive EBITDA
  • Promote the company's existing brands and introduce new products to the market
  • Analyse budgets, prepare annual budget plans, schedule expenditures ensuring the sales team meets their quotas and goals
  • To oversee and co-ordinate the preparation of monthly sales forecasts in line with the S&OP cycle and to update and report on KPIs
  • Being the ‘voice of the customer’ (VOC) you will plan and implement customer retention processes devising a robust system to capture data and reinvigorate the CRM system
  • Develop the commercial strategy, pricing and contract reviews, which is heavily linked and supportive around the company ESG approach
  • Develop and accelerate customer and company journey around Industry 4.0


The Person:

  • Ideally educated to HND/Graduate level in a Business or Technical discipline
  • Strategic senior sales and marketing / commercial professional, demonstrating a strong technical background in the manufacturing / engineering sector
  • Sales management / leadership experience with a background in selling technical solutions and handling key accounts
  • A leader able to demonstrate an open and inclusive senior management style, motivator and coach of sales teams
  • Excellent business development skills, ‘Hunter Mentality’ and ‘Farmer’ skillset, able to adapt effectively in commercial situations, a tenacious self starter
  • Prior experience implementing business tools, systems and processes
  • Financially and commercially astute, able to develop pricing strategies, assimilate detail and identify key issues quickly – understanding their impact on tactics and strategy
  • Customer focused, able to deliver end to end solutions
  • Excellent communicator, strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Astute negotiator and influencer with relationship building skills in a complex organization, whether it’s corporate or PE backed
  • Domestic travel up to 60% of time
