SERVICE ENGINEER

Based:  West Midlands / Warwickshire                                     

Salary: £40,000 + Pension

 

The Company:

Kendall Poole Consulting is currently recruiting for a small, well established, Warwickshire based stockist and distributor of specialist power transmissions components, namely caliper disc brakes, right angle gear drives, variable speed drives, overhung adaptors and torque limiters.  Working mainly in construction, off-highway and industrial sectors, they have built a solid reputation as a supplier of quality products combined with outstanding service and customer support and we are now looking for a Service Engineer, in a customer facing role.

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

Customer Site Service Visits

  • Undertake customer site service visits within the UK and Ireland, using company van
  • Perform fitting and commissioning of new products and machinery
  • Perform fault-finding and repair or replacement of products
  • Provide customer handover and training
  • Be proactive in identifying new sales opportunities with customers wherever possible
  • Complete job sheets and write short reports as necessary

 

Machine Building (in-house)

  • Preparation of parts and assembly of electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Design, wiring and testing of basic electrical control panels (low and medium voltage)
  • Incorporation of suitable electrical trunking/conduit runs on the machine
  • Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Support with machine testing

 

Component Production/Repair

  • Assist with the in-house production of components e.g. turning, milling, broaching
  • Perform inspection and necessary repairs to products returned from customers

 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Familiarity with the layout, content and application of the BS 7671: 2018 18th Edition Regulations (training certificate required)
  • Good understanding of drives and industrial control equipment
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience would be an advantage
  • Proficient in mechanical fitting with hand tools
  • Proficient in basic operation of Lathe, Milling Machine and Pillar Drill
  • Counterbalance FLT driving certificate would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of basic pneumatic systems e.g. valves, cylinders
  • Experience in working within the material processing industry would be an advantage
  • The ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
  • Versatility and flexibility within the company
