Our Client is a highly successful FTSE 100 company, a market leading £bn global manufacturer of precision engineered systems and products utilised in industry sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Brewing, Water, Petrochemical and Power to name just a few. The Company supply a full turnkey solution to their customer base including Design, Development, Manufacture, Assembly, Test, Project Management, Installation, Commissioning and Service. Following a global restructure, a vacancy now exists, to join the senior leadership team, for a Planning and Customer Services Manager.
Reporting to the GM UK Supply Chain Division and based at the largest manufacturing facility in the Group, this is the flagship site, operating to world class methodologies and committed to 100% customer satisfaction. Highly acquisitive and profitable, the Company is niche delivering systems and products to customers on every continent.
This is a transformation role and as an Agent of Change you will take end to end supply chain responsibility for Production Planning and Customer Service in UK Supply. You will lead and drive the strategy across forecasting, capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory management and customer services.
The Role:
- Develop and maintain an organisational structure to take accountability for the planning processes
- Review planning with on-going benchmarking against best practice, standardising procedures across all Value Streams
- Effectively communicate and build robust and effective relations with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, IS and the Distribution Centre
- Develop KPIs and management reports to support and improve decision making
- Support ERP and MRP improvements in support of the optimised processes
- Enhance the performance of the team through effective leadership, coaching and feedback to achieve objectives
- Introduce CI and Lean philosophies to deliver improvements
- Be an effective member of the senior leadership team actively contributing with ideas and actions to support the continuous improvement of the business
The Person:
- A high achiever academically, degree qualified ideally with a professional qualification in BPICS, ISCM, IOM or proven track record at a senior level within Supply Chain
- Have a clear understanding of managing planning processes and systems with a track record of strong leadership, resilience and a commercial outlook during the delivery of complex change management initiatives
- An Agent of Change able to lead and motivate teams to achieve sky high performance
- Able to engage stakeholders across all functions
- Skilled in delivering through forecasting and S&OP enabling excellent customer service in manufacturing
- Knowledgeable of ERP / MRP systems such as JD Edwards or equivalent
- Analytical with an on-time mentality
- CI savvy with a Lean focus well versed in Kaizen, 5S and Gemba
- A proactive person with excellent communication and presentations skills, able to achieve co-operation and engagement of others
- Resilient, able to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment where demands may be conflicting or challenging
