NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Midlands based in the Manufacturing / Engineering Sector
A vacancy exists for a high calibre individual to join the Non-Exec Board of a highly profitable business located in the heart of the UK’s manufacturing base. This is an established heavy engineering / manufacturing Group of companies, mainly exporting to the transport sector, where the demand for the product is exceptional.
The role will require attendance at monthly Board meetings, an AGM and any extraordinary meetings of this outstanding and highly profitable Plc. To be effective, you will bring deep understanding and knowledge of the manufacturing / engineering sector, ideally with an early career and hands on experience of production / operations, within a world class organisation.
You will already have NED experience, a FTSE 350 career at C suite level, and demonstrate the personal attributes to work well with a talented team of financial and legal experts. Able to easily navigate your way around a Plc, offering advice to be compliant and to ultimately delight the shareholders, you will be a strategic thinker, decisive, able to challenge decisions, influence, coach and offer guidance to the CEO and other Board members.
As a Non-Executive Director, you’ll have an opportunity to help steer the organisation in the right direction, helping them to be even more profitable, perform to an optimum level and have a strategic vision. It’s not about running the organisation but making sure it’s well run, protecting its reputation, credibility and enabling its future growth. Facilitating success and supporting the Board leads to positive gains all round and being a NED can be ‘one of the more purposeful things’ and the newly appointed Chair of this successful Plc is testament to this. This position may also lead to the Chair position in the future.
