Our client is the UK's leading supplier of high-quality measuring instruments and a vacancy now exists for a Stores Person who can occasionally be an Accounts Assistant. As the UK & Ireland distributor for key Corporations, they supply automated petroleum test equipment for the petrochemical offshore and refining industries, and the company has grown to hold a major market share in its territory. There are members of staff who have been with the company for over 20 years. The Role:
We are seeking a proactive and organized Stores Person who can assist with basic bookkeeping on occasion supporting the Financial Controller. This hybrid role combines responsibilities in store / warehouse management and basic accounting functions, ensuring smooth operations in both areas. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy, order processing and providing ad hoc administrative support.
Stores Management:
· Assist with the receiving, checking and storing of goods.
· Maintain accurate stock records and inventory control, ensuring stock levels are monitored and updated in real-time.
· Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
· Conduct regular stock counts and assist with stock audits as required.
· Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized and compliant with health and safety regulations.
· Manage the movement of goods, ensuring products are stored in the correct locations for easy access.
· Assist in the loading and unloading of deliveries.
· Prepare and process shipping documentation.
Accounts Support:
· Process and maintain purchase orders, invoices and payment records.
· Assist with data entry for accounts payable and receivable.
· Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies related to invoicing or stock discrepancies.
· Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and assist with the preparation of financial reports.
· Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager including filing and organizing documents.
